Project:                  NTC Clipping Buggies and NTC Clipping Wagon modifications

This was our very first project when the company formed back in 2004. The project was to design two unique clipping buggies that would run independently between the bogies of the NTC Clipping Wagon.

After clipping the track the buggy was lifted into the heart of the wagon and stored for transportation to the next worksite. The buggy framework was designed to be interchangeable depending on the clipping operation required.

Depending on which equipment was fitted to the standard buggy framework it had the ability to clip the rail to the sleeper either by using the standard Pandrol E-clip or the Vossloh Rail spike.

OTDS also designed the support framework that was fitted to the NTC Clipping Wagon to store the buggy whilst in transit to and from the worksite. Additionally we also designed the rotating seats and a clip storage / delivery facility for placing the clips onto the track prior to the buggy completing the installation.

This project took just over 3½ month's to deliver from a blank sheet of paper to the actual reality of the manufactured items. Over 90 2D detail / assembly drawings were produced along with all the 3D models to support the design.
